Understand your NCB before you claim.
What is NCB

A reward for driving carefully. Highlights include: Understand.

The No Claim Bonus is a discount insurers give on your Own Damage premium at renewal, as a reward for a claim-free year. It applies only to the OD component, not to Third Party premium.

How the discount grows year on year.

Year 1 (no claim)

20% discount on Own Damage premium at first renewal.

Year 2 (no claim)

25% discount.

Year 3 (no claim)

35% discount.

Year 4 (no claim)

45% discount.

Year 5+ (no claim)

50% discount (the maximum).

Any claim in a year

NCB resets to 0% at the next renewal, unless you have NCB Protection add-on.

Take your NCB to a new vehicle.

When you sell your vehicle, ask us for an NCB retention letter. It's valid for three years and lets you apply the same NCB to the Own Damage premium of your next vehicle, even with a different insurer.

The math before you file a small claim.

If the repair cost is close to what you'd save from your NCB next year, it may be cheaper to pay out of pocket. Talk to us before you file: we'll calculate the trade-off and let you decide.

Protect your NCB.

Add an NCB Protection add-on at your next renewal for a small extra premium. One claim won't reset your bonus.
